Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Mathematics. Courses in math are taught at all four PCC campuses. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area. This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Instructor Qualifications Master’s degree (MS, MA) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics; OR Master’s degree in Mathematics Education or Master’s degree in Teaching (e.g., MST, MAT) with an emphasis in mathematics; AND Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics; AND 18 quarter hours (12 semester hours) in graduate level mathematics, OR Master’s degree in a field related to mathematics†; AND 27 quarter hours (18 semester hours) in graduate-level mathematics Demonstrated Competency for part-time faculty and dual credit instructors may also be satisfied by other qualifications, if the above Minimum Instructor Qualifications have not been met. Part-time Faculty Compensation at PCC Newly hired Part-time Faculty at PCC will generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule. Hourly rates are determine based upon the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab).
