COPD Inpatient Educator/Pulmonary Rehabilitation

The educator will assess educational needs, plan and implement educational opportunities for staff, serve as a mentor, facilitate training for new equipment, and establish annual department-Specific competencies. Daily tasks include identifying copd inpatients, providing education, recommending treatment plan changes to physicians, and generating referrals to outpatient resources.

The role requires maintaining current respiratory care licensure and completing annual required education, including rqi cognitive skills (Bls, pals, acls) and nrp every other year. The educator must also ensure all staff competencies are completed annually and assist in advancing respiratory therapists' roles.
