Assistant preschool teacher - Floater

The assistant teacher is responsible for supporting the lead preschool teacher in planning and implementing activities that foster the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, while upholding ymca core values. Essential functions include maintaining required staff-To-Child ratios, adhering to safety regulations, assisting in classroom setup, developing positive relationships with children and families, and maintaining accurate program records.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and typically require a high school diploma or equivalent, though an associate or bachelor's degree in child development or a related field is preferred. Required qualifications include current cpr, first aid, aed certifications, and training in child abuse prevention and management of communicable diseases, along with previous experience working with children.
