The Youth Peer Mentor will deliver youth-focused, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed recovery services to ACS-involved youth and families, focusing on building rapport, assessing the stage of change, and offering tailored interventions to promote motivation for change. Responsibilities include facilitating access to substance use disorder treatment, connecting youth to community resources, promoting self-advocacy, and maintaining accurate documentation of interactions.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and be between 18 and 30 years old, identifying as someone with first-hand experience in social, emotional, medical, developmental, substance use, and/or behavioral challenges. Preference is given to those holding a NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or (CPRA-P) certification, along with familiarity with the HCBS Behavioral Health peer service model.

The Center for Recovery and Wellness takes a holistic, strengths-based approach to recovery and wellness that responds to the distinct needs of each individual. CRW offers culturally competent, evidence-based programs and services that strengthen individuals and communities, enhance resiliency, and foster lasting recovery.
We are seeking a Youth Peer Mentor who will deliver youth-focused, culturally responsive, and trauma informed recovery services to ACS-involved youth and families. The YRM will focus on building rapport, assessing the youth’s stage of change, exploring change goals, and offering tailored interventions to promote motivation and readiness for change.
