Position Summary
Duties and Responsibilities
Include: Establish and maintain open, professional, and respectful communications with students, parents, teachers, and the athletics department. Coaches will assist all individuals in their sport to grow socially and emotionally through positive feedback and timely and sensitive communication. Ensure that all coaches work together toward a common goal within their respected programs. Coaches must keep informed and up to date on Coastal League rules. Coaches will attempt to promote school spirit, team spirit, and cohesiveness. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field preferred A minimum of 3 years of coaching experience at the Upper School, Grades 9-12. Knowledge of age appropriate training techniques for students in Upper School, Grades 9-12. Previous experience playing the sport at a high school varsity, AAU, collegiate or professional level. Connections to the local, state and national community in your sport and attract coaches and qualified student-athletes to our school Has a thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, parents, and students Availability for all mandatory school, league and meetings, and athletic events Ability to provide meaningful assistance to students who wish to pursue the sport beyond high school. Ability to increase students’ understanding of game strategy and develop players’ individual areas of growth. Demonstrate the highest level of character and professionalism with excellent ethics Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all athletic participants. Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality Must pass a LiveScan fingerprinting background check A clean driving record and valid California driver’s license. Will be subject to clearance through the California Motor Vehicles Report (MVR) and the standards for driving set by SHS insurance underwriters. This is the lowest to highest rate we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the hourly range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.
