Core responsibilities
The teacher is responsible for developing and implementing students' individualized education plans (Ieps), including creating and executing lesson plans that incorporate goals from all disciplines. They must also implement and monitor behavior management plans and maintain communication with the classroom team, parents, and directors regarding student performance.
Requirements summary
Minimum qualifications include an initial nys certification in special education, a bachelor's degree in special education, and currently pursuing a master's degree in special education, along with being at least 18 years old and able to lift 50 pounds independently. Preferred qualifications include permanent nys certification and a master's degree in special education, with at least two years of experience working with students with multiple disabilities.
