This is a Part-Time Support Staff position at grade 9, with an hourly pay rate of $16.64 to $19.18. The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.
The Fitness Center Attendant supports the daily operation of the Elgin Community College Fitness Center by monitoring student activity, ensuring a safe workout environment, and upholding facility policies. The position assists with orienting students to equipment, maintaining cleanliness and functionality of fitness equipment, and providing guidance to work‑study student employees.
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 2. Knowledge of Fitness Center equipment and operations. 3. First aid and CPR certification required.

1. Assist in Fitness Center enrollment. 2. Perform other job-related duties as assigned which pertain to the job description. 3. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Position requires close visual acuity to perform activities (i.e. preparing/analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines; using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes).

Typical office or administrative conditions (i.e. not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions).
