Wabanaki Wise Worker - Motahkomikuk

The wabanaki wise worker supports the health and well-Being of wabanaki elders by focusing on fall prevention, safety, and community connection through planning and supporting various events and outreach efforts. Key duties include organizing monthly elder activities, supporting community health events, ensuring wabanaki traditions are integrated into programs, and coordinating fall prevention training for caregivers.

Candidates need either a university degree or college diploma in a related field plus two years of experience, or four years of direct experience in public health, health, education, or an elder-Serving profession. Essential requirements include a strong desire to support elders, excellent communication skills, experience organizing cultural events, a valid maine driver’s license, the ability to lift fifty pounds, and willingness to travel and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
