Wabanaki Wise Worker - Sipayik

The wabanaki wise worker supports the health and well-Being of wabanaki elders by focusing on fall prevention, safety, and community connection through planning and supporting various events and outreach efforts across wabanaki territories. Key duties include organizing monthly elder activities, supporting community events like expos, leading family-Centered programs, and ensuring wabanaki traditions are integrated into all deliverables.

Candidates must possess either a university degree or college diploma in a related field plus two years of experience, or four years of relevant experience in public health, education, or elder-Serving professions. Essential requirements include a strong desire to support elders, excellent organizational and communication skills, experience with cultural activities, a valid maine driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass background checks and lift fifty pounds regularly.
