Wabanaki Wise Worker - Penobscot

The wabanaki wise worker supports the health and well-Being of wabanaki elders by focusing on fall prevention, safety, and community connection through planning and attending various outreach efforts and events across wabanaki territories. Key duties include organizing monthly elder activities, supporting community events like health fairs, ensuring wabanaki traditions are integrated into programs, and coordinating fall prevention training for caregivers.

Candidates need either a university degree/College diploma in a related field plus two years of experience, or four years of relevant experience in public health, health, education, or an elder-Serving profession. Required qualifications include strong interpersonal skills, experience organizing cultural events, adaptability, a valid maine driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass background checks and lift fifty pounds.
