Core responsibilities
The job coach provides individualized guidance and hands-On support to transition-Age youth (16–24) who are deafblind during a summer vocational program, focusing on gaining meaningful work experience and developing workplace readiness skills. Essential duties include supervising participants at work sites, providing on-The-Job training, facilitating communication strategies, and encouraging self-Advocacy.
Requirements summary
A minimum of an associate’s degree is required, though a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, along with experience working with individuals who are deafblind or have combined hearing and vision loss. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, adaptability to diverse communication methods (Asl proficiency preferred), and basic knowledge of vocational rehabilitation principles.
