Paraprofessionals assist teachers in preparing educational materials and work individually or in small groups with students to reinforce learning objectives. Duties also include assisting with daily routines such as attendance, supply distribution, monitoring duties, and maintaining learning areas.

A high school diploma or ged is required, along with the ability to pass the gace para assessment or possess 60 semester hours/90 quarter hours with a c grade or higher, or an associate's degree or higher. Candidates need 0-1 year of experience and must be able to obtain the georgia psc paraprofessional certificate.
