The athletic trainer is responsible for providing on-Site medical support to local high school, college athletes, ymca, and recreation departments, including referring individuals to specialists when necessary. The primary mission involves progressing athletes through rehabilitation protocols to ensure they return functionally to a state comparable to their pre-Injury condition.

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged and have completed an accredited curriculum established by the nata board of certification. Required licensure includes being a licensed athletic trainer with nata board of certification or applicable state licensure, along with knowledge of the profession gained through academic or clinical experience.
