Substance abuse counselor

The substance abuse counselor is responsible for providing inpatient treatment to incarcerated individuals, which includes conducting substance abuse and mental health assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and leading various therapy and educational groups.

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelor's degree, and must possess a cap certification with that degree, though a master's degree is preferred. Preference is given to experience in a correctional setting or with therapeutic treatment modality.
