Family Based Care Specialist

The specialist performs home assessments and pre-Service training for foster care divisions, including conducting initial interviews, completing required documentation like community references and sanitation forms, and submitting reports promptly. They must also acquire and maintain trainer status for cpr, first aid, and cpi, and conduct required foster parent orientation training.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a human services field and have one to two years of related experience or training, along with maintaining cpr, cpi, and first aid certifications and a valid social work license. Essential qualifications include a strong understanding of culture, the ability to forge respectful partnerships with families, and conviction in people's capacity for growth and change.
