Core responsibilities
The breastfeeding peer counselor provides compassionate, culturally sensitive support and encouragement to breastfeeding individuals and their families by sharing personal experiences and evidence-Based information. This role is responsible for delivering services aligned with program goals and standards within the defined scope of practice based on training and certification.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or ged, or six months of related experience, along with three years of experience in a related field. A certified lactation consultant (Clc) credential or an equivalent certification is mandatory, along with a valid driver's license and the requirement to obtain bls/Cpr certification within six months of hire.
