2026 Nurse Assistant Trainee Program - University of Vermont Medical Center

The nurse assistant trainee performs specific aspects of direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including tasks like taking vital signs and responding to call lights. Responsibilities also encompass personal care such as bathing, mouth care, toileting, and skin care, alongside electronic medical record documentation.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old by the date of licensure test completion and successfully complete the 5-Week uvmmc nurse assistant trainee course within five weeks of hire. Previous patient care experience is strongly preferred, and candidates must meet physical requirements including lifting 35-50 lbs.
