The role involves creating long-Term impacts by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals, often while engaging in activities like visiting parks or gardens to work on social and communication skills. Responsibilities also include fostering independence by teaching daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, and laundry.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver's license; while no prior experience is required as paid training is provided, a high school diploma or ged is preferred. The ideal candidate should have a strong desire to positively influence the lives of the individuals they support.
