DIOCESE OF ALLENTOWN Mother of Hope Hybrid Academy, Fountain Hill Position Description Position: Part-Time Montessori Assistant (Full day Thursday & Friday) Grades: Montessori Class, Combined Ages 3-5 (Pre-K3 and Pre-K4) Mother of Hope Hybrid Academy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Montessori Assistant to support the Lead Montessori Teacher and ensure a smooth, nurturing learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will assist in delivering Montessori principles while fostering an atmosphere of independence, respect, and exploration. This position also involves helping to shape the Catholic identity of the academy by being a joyful witness of the faith in the classroom.

Responsibilities

Train with the Montessori Lead Teacher to understand classroom routines, materials, and methodologies. Observe students and offer assistance only when necessary, respecting each child's individual learning process. Present Montessori materials to students and assist in their proper use and understanding. Utilize various classroom management techniques to help maintain a smooth-running environment, allowing the Lead Teacher to provide uninterrupted individual and small-group lessons. Communicate regularly with the Lead Teacher about student observations, progress, and classroom needs. Assist students with activities such as art, snack time, practical life tasks, and food preparation work. Occasionally participate in Circle Time by reading books or leading songs. Reset the classroom during Circle Time or rest time to ensure a calm and organized environment. Supervise students during outdoor playtime and assist in ensuring a safe, positive experience. Provide assistance in the restroom when the Aide is unavailable. Assist with dismissal and transitions throughout the day. Review sandpaper letters with students and track progress as needed. Model proper behavior, such as speaking with a quiet voice and showing respect for materials and others. Read to children individually or in small groups, especially when they need to be calmed or distracted. Maintain a positive, nurturing attitude to create a safe space for children to explore and learn. Protect student concentration by minimizing interruptions when a child is actively focused on a task. Help shape the Catholic identity of the academy by being a joyful witness of the Catholic faith in daily interactions and activities. Additional

Qualifications
