  • Responsibilities:
  • The principal faculty will: Be supervised by the Anne Louis Keeney Chair and Program Director and work closely with the Director of Didactic Education to ensure cohesiveness of the didactic curriculum by implementing curricula that is in harmony with the educational philosophy of the Pfeiffer University Physician Assistant program. Design original or review and modify existing curricula to correlate with accreditation standards and program-wide mission, goals, competencies, and learning outcomes. Responsible for generating and delivering classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction across the didactic curriculum based on the individual’s qualifications. Actively participate in programmatic data gathering and analysis, as well as design and implementation of action plans in response to the analysis. Actively participate in the accreditation and programmatic continual improvement process. Actively participate in the admissions process. Evaluate student performance on a wide range of written and hands-on examinations. Perform remedial instruction as required. Serve as a student adviser for multiple cohorts of students. Engage in scholarly activity. Work as a Servant Leader through defined service to the University, program, and community. Embrace and incorporate the University and Program efforts in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Work in accordance with the Physician Assistant program defined workload policy. Other responsibilities in support of the program as needed or defined by the faculty handbook. Principal Faculty will work closely with and under the supervision of the Pfeiffer University MS-PAS Program Director. Principal Faculty will work at the Pfeiffer University Center for Health Sciences in Albemarle, NC. Principal Faculty are expected to support the program in its academic and clinical processes, which may require travel from Albemarle to the main campus in Misenheimer, NC on occasion. Qualifications Candidate must be a Physician Assistant who holds a master’s degree in physician assistant studies or related field. Applicants with a Doctoral degree e.g., PhD, DSc, EdD, DMSc, DHSc, etc., preferred. Must have a current NCCPA certification, and North Carolina state license (or license eligible) as a Physician Assistant. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of clinical practice. Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience for an accredited physician assistant program is strongly preferred.
