THIS POSITION This position is an hourly position responsible for the performance of routine safety and security functions, building, personnel safety, and event support. Provides courteous and considerate assistance to all students, staff and visitors. Responds to vehicle accidents, criminal behavior, fire or other emergencies and writes reports as needed. Provides traffic control for weekend events as needed. This is a part-time weekend variable shift, typically needed for 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday afternoons.

- DUTIES:
- Provide courteous and considerate assistance to all students, staff, and visitors
- Control of vehicle and pedestrian traffic both on campus and on 81st Street
- Control of student and building safety and security
- Involved in emergencies and emergency planning
- Perform routine building and parking lot security checks
- Provide vehicle assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed
- Respond to vehicle accidents and writes reports as needed
- Respond to theft, fire, and other emergencies. Writes reports as needed
- Provides security and traffic control for special events
- Provides security for special events as needed
- Assist emergency response units on campus as needed

- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with various school and volunteer organizations in a collaborative and friendly manner
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet facility insurance requirements
- Articulate information in an emergency situation
- Visual acuity necessary to observe and comprehend movement of individuals
- Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work standing / bending for several hours at a time including walking the campus to complete building security checks.
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds when necessary
- Good close, distance, and color vision and depth perception
- Duties may be performed outdoors in all weather conditions
