THIS POSITION In the role of Social Studies Teacher, You will teach classes that engage students in the Harkness method of discussion, with discourse as a key component of all classes. You will work collaboratively with a colleague who teaches the same core course to design and deliver an innovative curriculum. You will help develop students into critical thinkers, who have the ability to analyze a variety of texts, and understand how these texts reflect or challenge dominant understandings of the world. You will be part of a department that embraces and reflects a commitment to the Episcopal tradition of teaching and challenging our community to discard stereotypes, embrace inclusion, and practice radical empathy in every aspect of life. You will teach 3 sections of US History and semester electives over a variety of topics. you will serve as an Advisor for a group of approximately 10 students You will bring an engaging and enthusiastic approach to learning.   • The faculty work day is 7:45-3:45 with other duties as assigned outside this time frame. Work may include time indoors and outdoors. Activities include walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, talking, hearing and visual acuity. Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
