Position Description
AXIS is seeking a hard-working, flexible person to support the preschool classroom teachers with implementing instruction and reinforcing learning skills in one-one, small, or large groups, and with daily classroom tasks such as supervision, copies, prepping classroom materials, etc.
Position Responsibilities
Assist the classroom teacher with implementation of instructional plans Assist the classroom teacher with small group or one-one student support Assist the classroom teacher in preparing classroom materials, administering tests, grading, taking attendance, completing paperwork, maintaining files, and/or documenting student progress Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization, including daily cleaning responsibilities (e.g., sweeping, cleaning tables after meals) and regularly sanitizing classroom materials and toys. Provide conditions for a positive and caring learning environment Follow our behavior protocols and use positive reinforcement to address issues Attend work and arrive in a timely manner Attend appropriate in-services, building meetings, training, and/or school functions Perform any additional duties as assigned, which are consistent with the effective and orderly operation of this position, and the school-wide educational goals
Requirements: Required Qualifications: Associates or equivalent; Bachelors preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Lead teacher qualification Experience working with students in a school setting Bilingual in English and one of our Partner Languages (French or Spanish)
