  • Category: EducationPURPOSE OF POSITION This position assists the ISANA Central Office team with daily administrative functions for a Charter School Central Office. Tasks are clerical in nature and include answering phones, relaying messages, filing, typing, records maintenance, and other office work commonly associated with a charter school. This position frequently interacts with employees, parents, vendors, and other entities. PLEASE NOTE THIS A FULL TIME POSIITON. This is a (Classified/Non-Exempt) Position.
  • Reports to: Operations Coordinator RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES Often with minimal to no supervision, the office clerk will be responsible for the overall administration of office tasks. The following is a partial list of the types of responsibilities for which the office clerk will be responsible: Perform reception duties by receiving visitors, screening telephone calls and mail, receiving and distributing packages, and composing communications from general instructions or rough notes. Performs miscellaneous clerical work, such as filing, typing, relaying messages, operating office machines, and opening and routing mail.
  • Answer or refer inquiries to the appropriate individual(s): school administrator, office team, and public service agencies as needed. Receives, opens, distributes, and organizes storage of office supplies. Organizes and maintains files, records, guides, and rule books. Maintains reception area, conference rooms, and employee breakroom. Restocks breakroom snacks and copy paper. May maintain a standardized bookkeeping system for financial transactions, receive and disburse funds, and compile reports. May provide guidance to volunteers and others working or visiting the central office. Performs other related duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE Education/Training/Screening Associate’s degree or a minimum of two years of reception or office clerical experience. CPR certification – must complete during first month of employment Mandated Report Training (Child Abuse) – must complete during first month of employment. Must be able to take and pass a criminal background check (pre-employment requisite) You must hold a valid California Driver’s License. Experience One to three (1 - 3) years’ experience in office clerical work using typical office machinery and other technologies (copiers, faxes, computers). One (1) year using Time and Attendance (time sheet) software – employee time reporting. Skills Bilingual Spanish / English written and spoken (Preferred) Proficiency with all common Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), including basic database management. Excellent grammar and communication skills – both verbal and written Excellent organizational skills and time management skills – able to balance multiple tasks with often competing deadlines. Ability to type rapidly and accurately. Excellent judgment and ability to handle sensitive information.

  • DEMANDS: This position may include long periods of sitting or standing in an environment with moderate noise levels, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. This position is frequently required to stand, sit or walk, use hands and fingers and reach with arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, with the ability to adjust focus. Communication skills required by this job include the ability to hear and speak. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, typewriter keyboard, or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries items that typically weigh less than 20 pounds. May have occasional exposure to irate parents, staff, and public and private representatives.

  • ENVIRONMENT: The position is located in an office building, which may be air conditioned, heated and served by an elevator. Occasional travel to the various operating sites will be required. Occasional outside work with extended standing and walking. There is no prolonged exposure to noise or weather. Must be able to climb stairs, stand and sit for extended periods of time. Requires finger dexterity (computer use).

  • NOTICE: This position is eligible for a signing bonus, paid for in two installments in January and July. Eligibility for each installment requires active employment with ISANA on the payment date. Signing bonuses may be prorated based on start date or unpaid leave status and are subject to applicable taxes. Employees who separate from ISANA prior to the end of a bonus period will not be eligible for that installment.

  • NOTICE: The posted pay range represents the full range for this classified position. Final placement is contingent upon verification of prior experience through completion of the required Verification of Experience (VOE) form. Credit for prior experience requires having worked at least 85% of the applicable employment period.
