Description Pediatric Physical Therapist Miriam Learning Center | Webster Groves, MO
Miriam Learning Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will provide specialized physical therapy services to children and adolescents with diverse learning, behavioral, and physical challenges. Your primary focus will be to improve gross motor function, balance, coordination, and independence, ensuring every child has the physical foundation to succeed in their educational and social environments.
Evaluation & Assessment: Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to determine a child's motor development, strength, range of motion, and functional mobility. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs or private therapy goals) tailored to the specific needs of each student. Direct Therapy: Provide high-quality, evidence-based physical therapy sessions in both individual and group settings.
Work closely with teachers, parents, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s development.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries in compliance with state and agency standards.
Provide equipment recommendations (e.g., orthotics, adaptive seating) and train staff/families on proper handling and positioning techniques.
Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
Valid Missouri State License in Physical Therapy.
Previous experience in pediatrics or a school-based setting is highly preferred.
