Core responsibilities
The senior camp counselor provides direct supervision of a group of children in a seasonal day camp, creating positive relationships with children and building cooperative relationships with parents/Caregivers. Responsibilities include keeping campers engaged, assisting specialists, promoting youth development, maintaining safety standards, and instilling the ymca's four core values.
Requirements summary
Candidates must be at least 18 years old and a high school student or equivalent, with previous experience working with children, preferably in a day camp setting or as a counselor-In-Training (Cit). Required certifications include cpr, first aid, aed, and child abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire.
