  • Under the supervision of the Athletics and Activities Manager and building administration, the Interscholastic Athletics Coach organizes and administers the team which he/she coaches.
  • Retired Coaches are hired per BOE Policy 7120 COACHES AND ADVISORS OF HIGH SCHOOL EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must meet all qualifications below to be considered for the vacancy.
  • 45-Day Rule: Due to MSRA regulations, there is a mandatory 45-day waiting period after your retirement date before you can be rehired.
  • No education or reference surveys will need to be provided due to being a HCPSS Retiree Howard County Public School System retiree Coaches are hired by recommendations only.

  • You will be contacted by the Human Resources office via email from the application system.

  • Paid coaches receive a stipend at the end of the season.

  • Varsity $4,489 Varsity Coach $4,816 Jr.
  • Varsity Coach $3,185 Allied Coach $2,577 Volunteer No Pay Benefits HCPSS offers Sick and Safe Leave for eligible temporary employees.
