  • Academies of Math and Science Middle School Math Teacher (5th & 6th) 2026-2027 School Year Location: 4540 West Glendale Avenue Glendale, AZ 85301 Start Date: 7-20-2026 Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site Compensation Range: $48,331 – $54,571 (DOE) Position Overview Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.
  • AMS is seeking a passionate and data-driven Middle School Math Teacher for 5th and 6th Grades to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that fosters scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe all scholars can achieve at high levels through structured instruction, strong classroom culture, and consistent use of data to inform practice.
  • Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction aligned to AMS curriculum frameworks.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students performing above and below grade level.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional planning and interventions.
  • Foster inquiry-based learning and hands-on scientific exploration.
  • Classroom Culture & Student Support Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
  • Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies.
  • Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
  • Collaboration & Professional Growth Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to strengthen instructional practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the campus.
  • Family Engagement Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
  • Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Math or a related field OR Valid Arizona teaching certification in a relevant subject area Additionally, candidates must: Demonstrate strong classroom management skills Pass required background checks and obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Demonstrate commitment to serving Title I and multilingual communities Show strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven instruction Exhibit collaboration, professionalism, and initiative in a team-based environment Compensation & Benefits AMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.
