The teacher will provide high-quality mathematics instruction while supporting the social and emotional growth of middle school scholars. Responsibilities include building strong relationships with families, managing classroom behavior, and implementing individualized education and behavior plans.
Candidates must hold a valid Indiana Teaching License or be seeking reciprocation and possess a Bachelor's degree. Applicants are also required to pass a criminal background check and demonstrate experience in analyzing student data to inform instruction.

Build strong relationships with scholars, families, administrators, and PATH team members. Display an understanding of The PATH School's vision, mission, and core values. Invest in the learners’ well-being, health, and safety, physically, socially, and emotionally. Deep knowledge and passion for content areas: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Humanities, Physical education, Music, Art or Theater Teaches content and skills in English Language Arts, literature, composition, reading, and journalism to middle school scholars Adapts ELA material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge scholars Complete assessments, reports, grading, planning, and conferences with students, staff, and families within appropriate timelines. Administer standardized ability and achievement tests and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need. Ensure proper implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessment, Behavior Intervention Plans, Individualized Education, and 504 programs. Communicate with parents/guardians regularly to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs. Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations. Manage scholar behavior and maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and systems of the school. Perform administrative duties, such as assisting in hall and cafeteria monitoring, and bus loading and unloading. Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Valid Indiana Teaching License or seeking reciprocation (Required) Bachelor’s degree (Required) Pass a criminal background check (Required) The ability to develop caring relationships with scholars and families Experience in analyzing student data and using data to inform instruction Excellent communication, superior listening skills, organizational skills, and decision-making ability
EXPECTATIONS Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence. Participate in school-wide and individual professional development, including two weeks during the summer and weekly department meetings Attend and participate in events outside of normal school hours (ex. family nights, student performances, field trips, family conferences, Back-to-School Nights, etc.). Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis, Monday - Friday Ability to operate computers, classroom technology, and computer software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, copiers, and cell phone functions such as text, email, etc.)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand for ⅔ of the work day Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Ability to work in an environment with an above-average level of noise
