The program provides 500+ students in grades K-12 a safe, nurturing, and educational environment that fosters self-confidence and personal and social development. Students are exposed to various fun-filled project-based learning, developmental, and high-caliber enrichment activities, including arts enrichment (e.g., performing, culinary and visual arts), tutoring, homework help, and academic intervention support as health/wellness and physical fitness education. Additionally, students are engaged in leadership development activities, including student government, character education, and conflict resolution, and participate in several team sports and recreation activities, including football, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. We are seeking a part-time Basketball Coach to work with our after-school scholars. The ideal candidate will develop all aspects of a high-quality basketball athletics program and provide scholars with effective leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and execute the basketball athletics curriculum
Create a program that will include daily conditioning, fundamental drills, and a strategic playbook
Communicate and work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
Monitor and report on student progress and performance both in the classroom and the court
Collaborate and consult with staff on student performance in various athletic activities and schoolwork
Maintain ongoing communication with Athletics Program Director
Develop positive relationships with students that promotes wellness, growth, respect, and self-esteem
