The Assistant Teacher will develop lesson plans, lead educational and recreational activities, assist students with homework, and collaborate with staff on enrichment planning and bulletin board updates. Duties also include ensuring student safety, assisting with attendance documentation, and participating in meetings and training.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate/Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, and at least two years of experience working with children aged 5 to 16 in group settings. A kind, creative, and caring personality, willingness to undergo background investigation, and sensitivity when working with homeless families are essential.

Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an Afterschool Assistant Teacher for our Families w/ Children facility in the Longwood area of the Bronx. As the Afterschool Assistant Teacher, you will play a role in assisting with the planning, development, and delivery of the afterschool program.
