  • Summary: The ELA Teacher (9–12) is responsible for teaching reading, writing, literature, and communication skills to high school students. The teacher will create an engaging learning environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and strong literacy skills, preparing students for college, careers, and lifelong learning.

  • Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in English, including literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary. Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. Design and administer assessments, essays, projects, and presentations to evaluate student progress. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages discussion, inquiry, and critical thinking. Integrate technology and multimedia tools to enhance instruction and student engagement. Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student development and school initiatives. Participate in professional development to remain current with best practices in English instruction. Encourage students to explore diverse literary works and develop their own voice in writing.
