Who We Are

  • Prospect Schools is a high-performing, intentionally diverse K-12 college preparatory charter network serving nearly 3,000 students across seven schools in Brooklyn. We are a growing organization and expanding our network across Brooklyn from 6 to 9 schools in the coming academic year. Prospect Schools models its curriculum on the renowned International Baccalaureate Program, a rigorous program that raises the level of academic responsibility for students while preparing them to be global citizens. The Opportunity

Prospect Schools is seeking a High School Math Teacher. Prospect teachers are grounded in an equity-driven approach following the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, where instruction emphasizes academic rigor, critical thinking, global mindedness, and inclusive classroom practices. As an educator at Prospect, you will be part of a collaborative and high-performing instructional team and will report directly to a member of the school leadership team.

Duties: & Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Instruction
  • Design and deliver culturally responsive, engaging lessons that support learning in an intentionally diverse classroom and actively engage a variety of different learning styles
  • Utilize data, strong content knowledge, and effective pedagogy to plan clear, objective-driven instruction to advance learning for all students
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and instructional leaders through coaching, professional development, and, when applicable, advisory groups to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth
  • Classroom Environment
  • Set clear expectations and consistent routines to create a purposeful, warm, and supportive learning environment
  • Build a culturally sustaining classroom community where all students feel known, safe, valued, and respected by adults and peers
  • Staff Collaboration
  • Embody a “Team First” mindset by collaborating across grade level and content teams, participating in professional development, and partnering with the broader school community
  • Demonstrate a commitment to giving and receiving feedback for the purpose of continuous personal growth and betterment of the teaching and learning team
  • Caregiver Partnership
  • Build strong partnerships with caregivers through consistent communication and regular updates on student progress
  • Use caregiver feedback to continuously improve instruction and the overall learning experience
  • Coordinate and facilitate family meetings as needed and attend any/all school-wide caregiver events

About You

  • You have earned a Bachelor's Degree.
  • You have prior teaching experience.

Salary

The salary range for this role starts at $63,960, then increases based on years of experience. This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role. At Prospect Schools, we remain committed to providing competitive salaries.
