Job description
- JOB SUMMARY Part time, WorkReadyU (Adult Education) Adjunct Instructor at the NLTCC- Mansfield Campus Work Ready U positions are grant funded.
- Continued employment is based not only on employee performance but also grant funding.
- Part time WorkReadyU instructors work approximately 29 hours per week.
- WorkReadyU -- Adult Education -- instructors delivering English language, math, reading, writing and workforce training instruction to help adult students acquire the skills needed to succeed in the workforce, earn a high school equivalency, and enter and succeed in college or workforce training.
- WorkReadyU funds a wide variety of organizations to provide adult education instruction and promote an increased opportunity for adult learners to transition to postsecondary education, training, or employment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Candidate chosen for the position will be responsible for teaching reading, language and math in the Work Ready U department. Other duties include:
- recruitment and retention
- student support
- tracking students' attendance, testing results, meeting weekly submission deadlines. Qualifications and Experience to apply:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
- Teaching degree and teaching experience are preferred.
- A minimum of four years' professional experience required.
- Previous experience in a technical or community college is preferred
- Ability and eagerness to work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and other staff members
- Ability and eagerness to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Understand the mission of NLTCC
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must possess good interpersonal skills
- Must possess excellent organizational decision-making skills
- Demonstrated computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheet, and database systems)
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Flexibility of work schedule with some required evenings and weekends
