- Position
- Overview: The Lower School Paraprofessional at CCS will work under the supervision of a classroom teacher to provide academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. The position will provide individual or small group support and assisting with classroom management. The ideal candidate will help maintain classroom order by monitoring students during lessons, activities, and transitions. Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as recess, lunch, or field trips to ensure safety and appropriate behavior. The paraeducator will collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to ensure students’ academic, social, and emotional needs are met. Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborates with early childhood students across various settings. Supports the management of student behavior to foster greater independence in the classroom. Maintains student confidentiality at CCS. Works under the supervision of a licensed teacher to assist in delivering lessons across a range of academic subjects, including guided reading and small-group math sessions. Assists with administrative tasks as needed. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. Promotes positive social interactions between students with disabilities and typically developing students QualificationsQualifications: Personal faith in Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian school, and agreement with the CCS Statement of Faith. High school diploma or equivalent.(required) Prior experience working with children, especially in educational settings, preferred. Ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities and learning styles. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions from teachers and other staff. Patient, caring, and flexible with a passion for supporting student growth in a Christ-centered environment. Ability to exercise discernment and discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student matters.
