  • Overview: This part-time position will accomplish medical responsibilities and some administrative tasks under the direction of the Director of Health Services and will support students on the main CCS campus as well as the Glenwood School campus. Duties include providing first aid for injuries, assisting with daily health screenings, ensuring health supplies are stocked throughout campus, administering medication, assisting in emergency situations, charting and documenting student visits, and assisting on off campus field trips to care for medically fragile students. Duties and Responsibilities

Provide first aid and medical care for students. Assess, triage and care for any medical or injury needs throughout the school day. Ensure that first aid stations are stocked and that teachers have basic first aid supplies in their room. Assist in replenishing supplies on campus and disinfecting as needed. Keep an accurate written record of all student visits. Facilitate positive social exchanges for students and families with school. Assist the Director of Health Services with health assemblies for students and staff training on first aid and safety practices. Administering daily medication to students. Assess and administer OTC medications to students (with parent permission). Communicate with teachers appropriately about student medical needs. Communicate with parents appropriately about student medical needs. Following IHP and EAP for medically fragile students. Staff the school health clinic during the school day independently or with assistance from another school nurse. Maintain confidentiality of students and families. Follow all applicable aspects of the CCS Employee Handbook. Other job duties as assigned. Qualifications Personal faith in Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission of Chattanooga Christian school, and agreement with the CCS Statement of Faith. Licensed TN RN (or compact state and in pursuit of TN license), and in good standing Experience working with students and families from a variety of backgrounds Character, call, and availability to fulfill the needs of the job description Ability to multi-task Highly motivated and able to work collaboratively Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to problem-solve and think creatively Ability to exercise discretion and utmost professionalism in confidential and sensitive student matters Proficient with technology and a willingness to be trained in the school’s charting system.
