Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Athletics Scoreboard Operator position for the 2024-2025 season. This fixed term position (August - May) position is responsible for game clock and scoreboard operations related to a given sport. This position is assigned to sporting events throughout the year which include but not limited to: Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Football, Wrestling, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse. Job Responsibilities: Operate shot clock, game clock or scoreboard during varsity competitions Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules. During events, the game clock operator may have to interact with and work alongside the following: assigned game officials, Athletic Communications staff, Event Management staff, and Marketing and Promotions staff. Qualifications Must have a comprehensive knowledge of a given sports rules and regulations. This position also requires a knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, specific game protocol as it pertains to Ivy League and NCAA rules. Must be able to observe and react quickly to events on the field/court/athletic venue. Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment. The successful candidate for this position with be required to complete a criminal background check satisfactory to Brown University prior to commencing employment.
