  • Range: $67,567.00 - $158,280.00 Salary/yearThe Reading Intervention Teacher provides targeted instructional support to meet the literacy needs of struggling students through both pull-out services and push-in classroom support. This role requires the ability to build trusting relationships with students and foster a supportive learning environment that promotes literacy growth and student confidence. The ideal candidate is adaptable, maintains a positive approach to challenges, and is relentless in ensuring every child becomes a reader. This position is responsible for planning instruction, monitoring and reporting student progress, communicating student performance with stakeholders, and collaborating closely with general education staff to support student success. Essential Responsibilities Identify students for placement intervention groups in collaboration with the instructional team Plan and deliver high-quality small group instruction that meets the targeted needs of scholars (decoding/ fluency/comprehension) Administer ongoing reading assessments to monitor the progress of intervention efforts Collaborate with classroom teachers, as needed, around teaching reading and supporting students in the mainstream setting, and best classroom instructional practices Collaborate with other Reading Intervention Teachers to ensure programs support each other and align appropriately across school divisions Uses identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needs Maintains data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress Provides data to school teams and participates in decisions about student progress Communicate with teachers, administration, and families regarding student progress Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement and progress Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed Attends the appropriate training to improve knowledge and skills Performs other related duties as assigned Knowledge and skills Able to work independently and in a self-reliant manner Ability to turn best practices into high-quality, goal-driven results Ability to apply instructional strategies for differentiation Ability to collect data and make course placement recommendations for students Displays effective time management skills Experience with data management tools, organizational tools, and computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Possesses strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills to communicate with a varied audience QualificationsRequired - Master's in Education, Special Education, or related field Required - NYS Certification in a related field Required - At least two years of prior teaching experience.
