Responsibilities: Instructional Delivery and Language DevelopmentDeliver targeted English language development (ELD) instruction aligned to WIDA standards and grade-level content.Differentiate instruction to meet the varying language proficiency levels of multilingual learners.Collaborate with general education teachers to plan and implement scaffolds that support access to core content.Use data (ACCESS scores, formative assessments, classroom performance) to inform instruction and group students effectively.Support students’ development in all four domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.Incorporate culturally responsive practices that affirm students’ identities and experiences.Assessment and ComplianceAdminister and support state-required English language proficiency assessments.Monitor and track student progress toward English language proficiency goals.Maintain accurate documentation of student language services and progress.Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements for multilingual learners.Collaboration and SupportPartner with general education teachers to provide co-teaching, push-in, and/or pull-out support models.Provide guidance to staff on best practices for supporting multilingual learners in the classroom.Collaborate with families to support student learning and language development at home.Participate in MTSS/RTI processes for multilingual learners as needed.Academic and Cultural SupportBuild strong, trusting relationships with students and families.Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe, seen, heard, and valued.Participate in school-wide duties such as arrival, lunch, and dismissal.Attend and contribute to staff meetings, professional development, and family engagement events.Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and language development.QualificationsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree requiredValid Missouri Teaching License with ESOL/ELL certification (or ability to obtain)Demonstrated knowledge of second language acquisition and instructional strategies for multilingual learnersCommitment to educational equity and serving diverse communitiesStrong collaboration and communication skillsBilingual proficiency preferred but not requiredSatisfactory outcome of a background checkApplicants currently pursuing certification may apply before certification is received.
