Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities: JK Assistant Role ● Set up lunch and supervise rest time ● Assist with the preparation and/or organization of teaching materials and supporting student learning ● Support outdoor exploration time ● Provide break time for Lead Teachers BZ Beyond Assistant Role Plan and facilitate explorations/activities both in the classroom and outside for after-school care and day-off camps Responsible for the safety and supervision of a group of children ages 4-12 Communicate regularly with the Auxiliary Program Manager Set-up and clean-up of BZ Beyond classrooms Work collectively with other BZ Beyond staff members
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience: ● High School Diploma or higher ● At least two (2) years of teacher experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ● Energy and the desire to learn and explore with teachers and children ● Ability to embrace technology ● Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to support and extend the objectives of the curriculum ● Awareness of child development and developmentally appropriate practice ● Excellent communication and organizational skills ● Appreciation of a diverse, pluralistic Jewish community ● Comfort being part of a professional learning community ● Willingness to learn and grow professionally Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and in case of emergency, a 40-pound child. Often required to stand and sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, or crawl.
Compensation
