Job description

Position: Elementary Teacher (Multiple Openings)

Duties

Develop and sustain academic focused instruction in the elementary grade. Process and implement knowledge of pedagogy and deep content expertise in one or more of the following areas: mathematics, science, English language arts, social studies, foreign language, or fine arts (music, physical education, visual arts, etc.). Write and implement lesson plans grounded in our curriculum, regularly incorporating constructive feedback. Keep and use up-to-date data to monitor student progress and drive instructional choices. Solicit and utilize constructive feedback received from administrators and instructional coaches. Work in teams to plan problem solve, and support one another on a daily basis. Develop family-school relationships that foster the academic and social development of the child. Encourages parents/guardians to participate in the daily life of the school and reach out to families in their homes through training, parent nights, conferences, and telephone contact and through technology. Establish connections and relationships among their students and the larger community that support the academic and social development of the child and contribute to achievement of overall school goals. Other ancillary duties as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor – Elementary Education or a related field of study; will accept equivalent foreign degree;

Requires a valid State of Michigan teaching license.

Experience: One (1) year in the position above or in a related education role;
