Position Summary
The Substitute Teacher maintains a positive and productive classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher. This role involves delivering lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring continuity of instruction while supporting student learning and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Implement lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher Maintain classroom management and a safe, respectful learning environment Engage students in instructional activities and support their learning needs Adapt instruction to meet diverse student abilities and learning styles Track attendance, behavior, and student progress as needed Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth daily operations Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess as assigned Follow school policies, routines, and procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or related field Experience working in a school setting preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to adapt quickly and work collaboratively Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) preferred
