Requires an advanced degree in counseling, psychology, or social work from an accredited program and licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Candidates must have demonstrated experience in brief intervention, crisis assessment, and group therapy.

The counselor works within a dynamic environment, serving students and educating them in ways to develop themselves personally, educationally, and vocationally, as well as to enhance their overall mental and emotional well-being. This position will provide counseling, crisis intervention, and overall clinical outreach/educational services to the campus community. Responsibilities include intake, assessment, time-limited individual counseling, group counseling, outreach, consultation, and crisis intervention in the areas of mental health and well-being. Assist with the planning and promotion of well-being initiatives.
Advanced degree in counseling, psychology, clinical social work or related field from a Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accredited program, a program accredited by the APA Commission on Accreditation, or a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. Licensed in a mental health related discipline in the Commonwealth of Virginia or the ability to become licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Experience in brief intervention, mental health crisis assessment and group therapy.
Licensed or the ability to become licensed as a professional counselor, social worker, or psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Prior professional clinical experience working in a college/university counseling or community setting. Demonstrated ability to provide outreach, prevention, consultation, and seminar presentations.
