Responsible for managing the specialty curriculum, including planning age-appropriate activities in areas like cooking, science, and fitness. Ensures program safety, maintains parent relationships, and adheres to YMCA risk management policies.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of experience working with school-aged children. Must be 18+ years old and capable of obtaining First Aid and CPR certifications within 90 days.

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Special Skills Instructor is responsible for the overall operations and program management of the Specialty Curriculum including; participant and parent relationships, supervision of participants, creation of program activities and keeping track of supplies. In addition, the individual in this position is responsible for ensuring that the program adheres to the YMCA of South Florida's Risk Management policies and procedures.
Reinforces the Y's values within the organization and the community. Effectively communicates the benefits and impact of the YMCA's efforts for all stakeholders. Implements effective systems to develop volunteers at program and fundraising leadership levels.
Develops strategies to ensure staff and volunteers reflect the community. Builds and nurtures strategic relationships to enhance support for the YMCA. Communicates for influence to attain buy-in and support of goals. Provides tools and resources for the development of others.
Integrates multiple thinking processes to make decisions. Involves members and community in the development of ro rams and activities. Ensures execution of (ans. Institutes sound accounting procedures and financial controls. Assigns clear accountability and ensures continuous improvement.
Fosters a learning environment embracing diverse abilities and approaches, Creates a sense of urgency and positive tension to support change. Anticipates challenges that can sidetrack or derail growth and personal learning. Has the functjonal and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology.
