Collaborate with the Head Coach and Coordinator to develop and implement weekly practice and game plans to maximize player abilities. Serve as a mentor and developer for players while managing positional drills and contributing to opponent evaluation.
Requires a Bachelor's degree and proficiency in defensive schemes and game planning software. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and two years of experience within college athletic programs.
Works in collaboration with the Head Football Coach and assigned Coordinator to develop and implement weekly practice and game plans to maximize player abilities. Operates as mentor and developer. JOB DUTIES Collaborates closely with the Head Football Coach and the Offensive or Defensive Coordinator to develop and implement weekly practice and game plans aimed at maximizing player abilities. Assists the assigned coordinator in practice preparation, which involves organizing positional drills, managing player repetitions, and overseeing player rotations. Coaches players as directed by the Head Coach and assists with Special Teams. Serves as a mentor and developer, focusing on enhancing the skills and performance of the players. Attends daily meetings with the Head Football Coach and assigned staff are required, along with leading player meetings and coaching during game-day competitions. Evaluates the opponent's personnel and contributes to the creation of a weekly game plan. Gameday responsibilities will vary and will be assigned by both the Head Coach and the respective coordinator. Responsible for cooperation and collaboration with other employees, fostering a spirit of teamwork and collegiality, and compliance with all Trinity University policies and guidelines. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies. Periodic travel for competitions and involvement in weekend recruiting events may be required occasionally. May include providing professional leadership during emergencies and performing other tasks as required. Performs other duties as required. EDUCATION Required: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
