The instructor will provide laboratory and clinical instruction for students in the Respiratory Care program. Responsibilities include developing course outlines, evaluating student progress, and maintaining program accreditation requirements.
Candidates must hold an associate degree in Respiratory Care, be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and possess a current Georgia RCP license. A minimum of two years of work experience as an RRT and two years of teaching or clinical instruction experience are required.
Columbus Technical College seeks an individual to serve as an Adjunct Instructor in the Respiratory Care program. This individual will be responsible for laboratory and clinical instruction. This position will also require attending workshops and completing mandatory staff development training. This position is part-time/exempt.
This position will require the physical ability to move about or stand for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
May be required to teach high school students May require teaching on or off campus throughout our service delivery area (Muscogee County, Stewart County, Quitman County, Chattahoochee County, Harris County, and Talbot County) May require travel
Instruct students in the Respiratory Care program Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives. Evaluate student’s progress in attaining goals and objectives Request and maintain supplies and equipment Develop teaching methods and maintain management procedures and documentation Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the students’ progress. Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas Respond promptly to administrative requests Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts Maintain program accreditation requirements as appropriate Involvement in professional activities/organizations Other job-related duties as assigned Skills: Effective written and oral communication General computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel) Keen observation, supervision, and evaluation skills Strong time management and organization skills
Associate degree in Respiratory care from a regionally accredited institution Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Current Georgia license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Minimum of (2) two years’ work experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist within the last (4) four years Minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs Salary/Benefits: Pay rate is commensurate with education and experience, no benefits.
