The Reading Teacher designs and implements standards-based lesson plans for girls in grades 6-12 using trauma-informed and strength-based frameworks. They are responsible for monitoring academic progress, maintaining student data, and fostering a safe, supportive learning environment.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and an active Florida Department of Education teaching certificate or Statement of Eligibility. Knowledge of the science of reading and experience in trauma-informed youth environments are highly valued.
The teacher role is for educators who have a commitment and passion for educating girls. Our year-round program, featuring small class sizes, provides multiple benefits to students and their families, as they receive wraparound support in education and social services. The reading teacher is responsible for ensuring that girls master state standards and achieve academic success in 6-12 reading.
