Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of mental health and wellness concepts, principles and practices. Ability to accurately administer assessments and provide correct follow-through. Proficient in DSM-V-TR diagnosis. Skilled in the provision of individual and group counseling techniques and treatment planning. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff. Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information and records. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Knowledge in working with issues related to alcohol and drug use, sexual assault, relationship violence, suicide prevention, LGBTQ+, BIPOC, multicultural counseling and academic success. Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related field Independently licensed or license eligible in the state of Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by date of hire One year of experience providing therapy in a mental health setting The University of Wisconsin-Superior does not offer H-1B or other work authorization immigration sponsorship for this position.
