• Freire Charter High School (9–12): 2027 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19103 What you’ll do As a member of Freire’s instructional team, you will implement high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum to drive rigorous instruction and high achievement, while remaining open to feedback and instructional coaching.
• You will also foster a safe, affirming environment where students feel confident taking risks and practicing Spanish authentically.

Responsibilities

Foster a classroom environment grounded in critical thinking, academic rigor, mutual respect, and high expectations for all students. Implement high-quality, content-specific curriculum and design instructional materials that promote deep thinking and problem-solving. Maintain consistent, proactive communication with families regarding student progress and relevant school updates. Engage fully in professional development and collaborate closely with colleagues to best support student learning and growth. Teachers hired at Freire Charter High School (20th & Chestnut St.) have the opportunity to be CREW Leaders and will co-lead a class focusing on SEL and community building twice a week. Minimum requirements Bachelor’s degree required Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and commitment to obtain certification Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skill Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a work ethic and collaborative spirit Minimum of two years of successful experience working with diverse student populations Pay and benefits Salaries for certified teachers entering their first year start at $60,000, with an overall salary range of $50,000–$85,000 based on experience and qualifications.
