Licensed Practical Nurse Passionate about working with K-12 students Position Overview: We are currently seeking a School Nurse to join our dynamic team at E-Therapy. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing healthcare services, promoting wellness, and supporting the well-being of students in school settings.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing care to students with acute or chronic health conditions, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assessing overall health status. Assist students with activities of daily living, such as toileting, feeding, and mobility, as needed. Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with specialized healthcare needs. Monitor and document students' health status and response to treatments, medications, and interventions. Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid and basic life support as needed. Educate school staff, students, and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and ensure compliance with state regulations and school policies. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input regarding students' healthcare needs and accommodations.
Graduation from an accredited vocational nursing program. Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of practice. Previous experience working as an LVN in a school or pediatric setting (preferred). Knowledge of pediatric nursing principles, practices, and procedures. Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping. CPR certification (required) and additional certifications such as First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) (preferred).
